Marina Super Bass Series SB-1

If anyone else has tried to google or find this 4 string Marina Super Bass Series SB-1 bass on the internet then by now you know that it's impossible. I'm one of the proud owners of this great bass guitar.I've had it for about a year now and I'm satisfied with it. I can play rock, jazz and metal with it.works just fine. The sound is great and even better with a Ampeg amplifier.Funk is something thats it's hard to play with it because she doesn't like slapping very much.
Marina is a Taiwan company tahat has produced 6 different guitars. Some of the electric and some acustic but thers not a word about a bass So if you have on you should feel special. If you have one then let me know how your's sounds and lets talk bass.

Hello there, I have a marina bass guitar too, but a different one than this one. It mentions profile bass and a series name "m-pj-b" on the headstock. Haven't come across another one. Plays great, even though it only has 3 strings wired now ;). I wish I could find some more info on this.

I've got one of these. £50 from ebay. It's got a great clunky sound. Maybe a little like a Rickenbacker.

I also have a "m-pj-b profile bass" and I really love it. It was my first bass and I was really lucky to have this as my first instrument back at the 80's.

It has great sound (but somewhat weak signal). It doesn't have the rich harmonics of expensive instruments, but it was easily played and helped me develop some nice techniques, especially in funk/slap styles.

I lend it to some friend a decade ago, and I am very happy that I got it back these days.

The neck is somewhat warped now and the strings are higher than it should. The rod cup inside the neck is broken (my bad, done about 15 years ago) and doesn't turn so I cannot fix it, but it is still easily played. I have it beside me as I write this.

I will take some photos of it and I will record some clips of its sound. I will post em here.

They say instruments have souls. My Marina certainly has.

It definitely has soul and sound! @andres: we discussed before and I think it´s a varied passiv copy of the Fender 1984-1987 jazz bass special mij. Duff played it! ;-)
